Installation

  1. Installation via WordPress Dashboard:
  2. Navigate to Plugins->Add New
  3. Upload the qr-codes-wp.zip file and click “Install Now”
  4. Activate the plugin

Installation via FTP

  1. Unzip the qr-codes-wp.zip file on your computer.
  2. Upload ‘qr-codes-wp’ folder to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
  3. Activate the plugin in the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress Dashboard

Usage

To create QR codes click QR Codes for WordPress in from the menu in the WordPress control panel. Enter the following information:

  1. Name - Any label you can use to refer your saved QR code in Posts and Pages.
  2. Code Action – Choose from the list.
  3. Depending on which action you select in step 2 will determine what information you need to enter here. By default Website Url shows up because Browse to a Website is selected in Code Action above.
  4. Alignment – The alignment of how the QR code will show up in your post.
  5. Click Add Tag

Your QR Code has been saved, you should see a preview of your new QR code. To use edit saved codes click Tags from the admin menu for a list.

To add QR codes to a Post or Page

  1. Create or edit a Post or Page.
  2. In Visual mode (not HTML) you will see a QR Code button in the editing toolbar:  QR code icon Place your cursor in your content where you would like to code to appear then click the QR code icon.
  3. A pop up will appear. Select the QR code you want to use and click Insert.
  4. A WordPress short-code will be added to your content. Preview your Post to view the QR code.

If you need to edit the alignment you can go back to your save QR codes under Tags in the menu, and edit your QR code.
