QR (Quick Response) codes are starting to show up everywhere with the popularity starting to show up in mainstream media. The Denver Post is talking about the latest trend in technology that many are taking advantage of with their smart phones. By doing a scan of the square image with the camera on your smart phone, it opens up a whole new world by taking you to a web site based on the scanned square box known as a QR code.
This can take you to a map, give you coupons, display a video, the number of things it can do with a single scan are wide open. As with other technology, such as using your mobile phone to pay for things, this started in Japan a few years ago.
With all of this, there are some QR codes that are specific to certain equipment to scan versus the popular ones of today that can be scanned by your phone. With the proliferation of smart phones in the US, these are going to grow quickly in use.
